Cedar Heights is a home licensed by the Department of Corrections, which provides quality community-based residential services for young men, ages 16-21, who are involved in court-ordered supervision, including Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction and in need of out-of-home placement. We are located in Bloomington, MN.
Our talented Program Director leads a team of specially trained residential staff members including two dedicated Program Supervisors and a Clinical Specialist that provides on-site skills groups and therapeutic supports. As a team, we are committed to providing the individuals we support a safe environment in which they can learn, heal and grow.
Individualized Services and Supports
We offer quality services and supports that help individuals develop healthy decision-making skills, self-awareness and emotion regulation skills. We provide unique amenities such as a designated clinical supports area, individual bedrooms, workout rooms with equipment, a media/computer room and ample space for group activities, as well as alone time.
We work with each young man on a one-on-one basis to establish an individualized service plan, set personal goals, and reduce further involvement in the criminal justice system. Goal areas may include, but are not limited to:
- Learning social skills and developing healthy relationships with family members, peers, and others
- Achieving or maintaining employment in the community
- Succeeding in educational goals
- Participating in treatment for substance abuse, behavioral challenges, anger management, trauma, etc.
- Expressing themselves through art, cultural connections, athletics and other outlets
- Increasing independent living skills and community orientation skills
